About Wanderhold

The Founder

Will Lybrand spent 20 years building things at scale. From a scrappy engineering startup in San Antonio to senior leadership at Rackspace, Tableau, Salesforce, and now Kendra Scott, where he oversees ecommerce technology for one of the most recognizable jewelry brands in the country. Through all of it, he kept playing RPGs.

Not casually. The kind of playing where you know your character's backstory better than your own resume, where you're thinking about the campaign on your commute, where a session getting cancelled doesn't just sting. It compounds. Because it's never just one session. It's the arc. The story you were building together, slowly, across months, that never gets its ending.

A few years ago he stepped off the corporate track and started Studio Lybrand, spending two years deep in generative AI and building the kinds of systems that actually remember things. He kept circling back to the same question: why does one of the best storytelling hobbies in the world still require four people, the same night, every week, to produce something worth calling a story? That's a solvable problem. He had the engineering background, the obsession, and enough unfinished campaigns to fuel the motivation.

So he built Wanderhold. A solo narrative RPG platform where the campaign actually goes where you take it: persistent across sessions, built on real mechanics, generating story that responds to your specific choices and history. Not a replacement for the table. Just a way to keep the story alive when the table isn't available.

He built it for every player who ever had to put their character away half-finished. He hopes you finally get to the ending.
